About Us:

Hamphauer Canes is dedicated to bringing to you top quality antique walking sticks and canes at reasonable prices. One thing we have found over the years is that you do not have to spend outrageous amounts of money to accumulate a respectable and enjoyable walking stick and cane collection. Many collectors, including myself, have started with moderately priced pieces and have worked their way up to a high quality collection. Just as many collectors have remained in the moderately priced category and have experienced the same amount of enjoyment as the higher dollar collector and in some cases have seen their collection increase in value more quickly. We will always have antique walking sticks and canes in all price ranges and categories. We will always welcome the beginner along with the master collector. We are very aware that everyone starts somewhere. In lieu of that we will always welcome any questions you might have about a particular piece or about collecting in general. There is no such thing as a stupid question. The more informed you are the more you will enjoy your collection.

19th Century Klingenthal Sword Antique Cane
19th Century Klingenthal Sword Antique Cane
Antique Cane, Antique Canes Gotta love them..... Featuring a very rare Klingenthal Sword Antique Cane. The Officers of the Confederacy carried Klingenthal Swords with pride. There is a chance this fine antique cane was converted into a sword cane by an officer of the Confederacy post Civil War as over the years I have found that the credo of all military officers is that; "No good Blade is ever discarded." It was not unusual for a field officer to carry a sword cane crafted with his battle sword blade. It wasn't politically correct to wear your sword post conflict, especially confederate officers, so they carried it within their cane. This tradition dates back to at least the War of 1812 and probably before. This particular blade is "dripping with hallmarks." Their are 6 hallmarks all pictured in the photos. The handle is of horn and has great patina. The shaft is a hard wood turned to resemble bamboo. A Klinenthal light cavalry sabre from 1831 sold on Ebay recently for $4,500.00. Here is the item# 330161682921 if you would like to see it. Klingenthal Swords are quite valuable. The is a reference book dedicated to Kingenthals and they appear in many other edged weapon publications. This is a great way to get one for a much smaller investment. The fit and finish is right on. It is a friction fit and neds no restoration. This is one great all original Sword Antique Cane! Don't miss it. I probably won't have it for long..... Dimensions: Total Length: 34.75" Blade Length: 22."
